Charles was educated at Cambridge University (St. John's College), obtaining an M.A. and became Governor of co Monaghan and MP on 17 Feb 1735. It appearers that he was following in his father's somewhat "darker" side as in the same year, he formed the Dublin Hellfire Club, along with Lawrence Parsons, 1st Earl Rosse and James Worsdale (Portrait painter, actor and rake) [793] [794].

However, for some reason he presumably turned from the "dark side" as he became a clergyman (ordained at Clogher 24Aug1738), Rector of Muckno (1739), Prebendary of Derry (1740), Rector of Conubar & Conbar (1740) and then Dean of Killahoe (1750-1761) [62] [928].

Descendancy: 1 Rev Charles Talbot BLAYNEY MA b.27Jan1714; d.15Sep1761 (age 47) Became the 8th Lord Blayney in 1732 on the death of his father Cadwallader + Elizabeth MAHON m.3Nov1734; d.Apr1754 (CastleBlayney) dau of Nicholas Mahon Esq by Eleanor Blayney, (dau of the 5th Lord Blayney), making her a 2nd Cousin to Charles. 2 Henry Vincent Talbot BLAYNEY b.28Dec1737 d.v.p.30Mar1754 (age 16) with no issue [10] [362]

As Charles Talbot Blayney's son and only heir died before him, the Baronage reverted to his younger brother Cadwallader, who became the 9th Lord BLAYNEY
