An intermittent light but chilling drizzle made the progress east along Pleasant Range slightly less pleasant but for the most part the undulating tussocky tops dotted with tarns was quite delightful and the highlight of the trip. However the combination of tired legs and a chilling wet wind forced us to push on to prevent the developing hypothermia. We thought we had the next day spare to explore these tops after a good rest.

We came down to Lake Horizon and Ursula, crossing between them which is rather dramatic, an effect I have tried to re-create with this composite picture:

After Lake Horizon and Lake Ursula there is a 150m descent down the ridge to the Lake Roe Hut at the northern end of Lake Laffy. The actual Lake Roe is visable well above the hut.
