As the weather was fine, some decided to go up to Mckinnon Pass in case it wasn't so clear the next day, particularly as it had been unusually fine for Fiordland to date. Alan, John and Cathy went while I got the dinner on.

Guess what, the next day the mist and cloud moved in!

As we ascended the pass a wet mist closed in so all the views of the previous day were only glimpses through small breaks on which we wasted a lot of photos (thank goodness for digital cameras!). The mist adds its own beauty but did make orientation difficult.
