Easter 2003 As Easter weekend preceeded the week of Anzac Day, I was able to have a 10 day break and only loose three working days, thanks to Dr Khanbhai agreeing to cover those days. Shirley, Martin and I travelled to Hamilton on Thursday night, got up early and collected Benjamin and Michael in Auckland, then travelled up to Orewa via the motorway, over the hill to Waiwera, past Wenderholm to arrive at Puhoi village around 10am. Here the boys and I got kitted out for a canoe ride down the river, while Shirley stayed in the car reading. She found out that parking outside a church on Good Friday wasn't a good idea as the faithful marched pass carring a big cross! I should have got her taking pictures from the bridge. It was then on to Warkworth, and out to Leigh. After finding the motel we decided to check out the Goat Island marine reserve. It was a pleasant place but the water had been stired up so it wasn't worth diving or a trip in the glass bottomed boat. Plenty of fish visible off the roaks though.
