Here is an interesting "Ex-Libris" (mark of possession of books) from about 1780 used by Thomas Holloway HOARE (1748-1827). During the eighteenth century, ex-libris were mainly heraldic but non-armigerous persons increasingly used a pictorial ex-libris like this.
