Photos marked [JSutton] are by John Sutton, all the rest were taken by me.

Saturday 7th March 2015: On the way to Akaroa, some of us stopped to check out the Kaitarete Spit which is blocking the drainage of Lake Forsyth, which in turn has made it a "dead lake". There are attempts at providing drainage to hopefully stimulate a recovery of life.

After less than 10 minutes tramping we arrive at Onuku Farm Hostel. Time for some well earned red wine! The "Fighting Kiwi" is the pick of some for a more appropriate NZ flag but at a pinch could be seen as too close to ISIS.
