Password Error Page

[1] I don't have the password or I have forgotten it.
Simple - just contact me. However, the pass-word(s) are only available to genuine family.

[2] It says "not secure".
Ignore this, I promise there are no malware, spyware or other trickery!

[3] I put in the password but I get an error message or nothing much happens

First ensure you click "OK", don't just push "ENTER"

Otherwise the usual problem is that you have Internet Explorer security set a little high, so it cannot manage the Javascript password applet.

(a) If you see "Javascript is required to access this area. Yours seems to be disabled." message, then you will need to enable Javascript.
This is done thus:

  • Click Tools in the menu bar, and then click Internet Options.
  • Click the Security tab, and then ensure Internet security zone is highlighted
  • Move the "Security Level for this zone" down from "HIGH" to "MEDIUM-HIGH" then click "OK"
  • You will still have excellent protection but now you have some control (instead of Internet Explorer preventing ALL scripts).
In Chrome it is done thus:
  • Click Settings in the menu bar, and then click Privacy and Security.
  • Click the Site settings, and then click Javascript
  • Select Sites than can use Javascript eg http://www.keithblayney.com
  • I think that is all.

(b) If you see an Internet Explorer Information bar appear stating:
"? This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows" -like this:
ScriptError.jpg

  • Click the bar (not the above graphic), then select "Temporarily allow scripted windows" then retry the link to the password.

Alternatively you could add this site to your "Trusted Sites", so you are not bothered by any security restriction visiting the site, but continue to have as high a security as you wish for any unknown site. This is done thus:

  • In Internet Explorer, navigate to the website that you want to add to a specific security zone.
  • Click Tools in the menu bar, and then click Internet Options.
  • Click the Security tab, and then ensure Trusted sites security zone is highlighted
  • Click the [ Sites ] button on the right then
  • Untick (clear) the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" check box.
  • Add http://www.keithblayney.com and for good measure throw in http://keithblayney.com (without the "www") and why not also add http://blayney.nz and http://drblayney.com?
  • Click "Close" then "OK" and you are done :-)
