Justus L. Blaney (1809-1875) was listed as a potter in Cookstown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in 1850, but
by 1860, he was reduced to the job of "day laborer" in Meigs County, Ohio,
and then by 1870, had moved to Muskingum County, Ohio, and described himself as a "farm laborer."
